Sinn Féin Councillor and general election candidate Conor D. McGuinness has highlighted concerns over an apparent lack of management of Quanns in Dungarvan. He said the Council has questions to answer how the area is managed, including the enforcement of byelaws.
McGuinness said:
“I have concerns about what is widely perceived as a lack of management and enforcement at Quanns, when it comes to the use of campervans.
“The current situation appears to be a free for all, where campervans routinely park in authorised area. This is having a negative impact on residents in the area and impeding access on footpaths.
“Thats not to mention the impact on available parking spaces and the increased risk to pedestrians due to reduced visibility coming off footpaths.
“There is limited space in Quanns and while there is definitely a place for campervans, it cannot be a free-for-all. There needs to be a rethink and a new approach to management and enforcement.
