Sinn Féin TD for Waterford, Conor D. McGuinness, has welcomed the granting of planning permission to S&K Carey Ltd for a major new housing development at Duckspool, Dungarvan, which will deliver 113 houses, 45 apartments, a crèche facility, and improvements to the surrounding road network.
Deputy McGuinness said:
“This is a very positive step for Dungarvan at a time when the need for housing is acute. I am pleased to see this development move forward, and I look forward to its delivery.”
“During my time as a member of Waterford City and County Council, I engaged directly on zoning and access issues to help ensure this site and others like it could be opened up for much-needed development. It’s encouraging to see those efforts now bearing fruit.”
“While this is a private development, I welcome the fact that a portion of the new homes will be allocated to Waterford City and County Council for use as social and affordable housing, ensuring a wider range of families and individuals in our community will benefit.”
“I want to commend all involved in advancing this project. The permission includes significant upgrades to the road network in this area to improve traffic flows and reduce congestion. We now need to see construction commence swiftly so that these badly needed homes can be delivered without further delay.”
