‘Ballyduff’s long wait is over’ as Local Link connection confirmed – McGuinness & Mulcahy

The long-awaited improvement to the Local Link 363 Dungarvan–Tallow service has been confirmed, following sustained campaigning by Sinn Féin’s Conor D. McGuinness TD and Cllr Donnchadh Mulcahy. The route is a critical link for Ballyduff Upper, connecting it to key towns and onward destinations.

Conor D. McGuinness TD, who is Sinn Féin spokesperson on Rural Affairs, welcomed the development:

“This is a very important step for the people of Ballyduff and the wider area. The lack of regular and reliable transport has been a major barrier for families, workers and older people. This enhanced service will help change that.”

The improvement was confirmed in response to a Parliamentary Question submitted by Deputy McGuinness, following ongoing engagement with Local Link Waterford, the NTA and the Minister for Transport.

Cllr Donnchadh Mulcahy said the route has been a consistent local priority:

“We’ve pushed hard for this over several years. I’ve met with Local Link and community stakeholders many times, and the message was always clear – Ballyduff needs better transport. I’m proud that our work has delivered for the people here.

“And the service works both ways – we hope it won’t just deliver a social dividend for the community, but an economic one too, by bringing more footfall, activity and opportunity into Ballyduff.”

The enhanced 363 service will increase connectivity between Dungarvan, Tallow and Ballyduff, with further links to wider destinations. Timetable updates are expected in the coming week.

“This is about fairness and inclusion,” added McGuinness. “We’ll keep working to make sure every rural community in Waterford has access to the services they need.”
