Thar am dul i ngleic le dumpáil mhídhleathach sa Rinn – Conor McGuinness

Dúirt ionadaí áitiúil de chuid Shinn Féin Conor McGuinness go bhfuil sé thar am dul i ngleic le dumpáil mhídhleathach sa Rinn.

Dúirt Conor McGuinness:

“Bhí díomá orm málaí bruscair agus éadaí a fheiscint caite ar an talamh i Heilbhic agus i mBaile na nGall le déanaí. Is áiteanna áilinn scéimhe iad seo agus bíonn go leor daoine áitiúla maraon le cuairteoirí á úsáid go minic.

“Tá boscaí bruscair cuirthe ar fáil comh maith le seirbhisí eile. Is léir go bhfuil meas ag mórmhór na ndaoine a bhaineann úsáid as na áiseanna seo ach chuireann sé isteach ar gach éinne nuair a fágann daoine mála móra bruscair ina ndiaidh.

“Tá ard-mholadh tuilte acu siúd, idir foireann na comhairle agus na gníomhaí áitiúla, a dheanann éacht chun an ceantar a choimeád in ord agus in eagar. Is mór an trua dumpáil mhídhleathach a fheiscint agus obair maith á dheanamh chun na háiteanna a bheith glan, néata agus deamhaisithe.

“Is léir go n-úsáideann roinnt mhaith veain champála an dhá ionad seo go háirithe thar an samhradh. Táim ag iarraidh ar an gcomhairle comarthaí a chuir in airde sna háiteanna seo agus tabhairt le fios nár chead bruscar a fhágaint ann, agus go fhuil ionad athchuarsála do bhuidéal agus éadaí ar fáil an-chóngarach.”

Illegal dumping in An Rinn needs to be addressed – Conor McGuinness

Sinn Féin local representative Conor McGuinness has said that illegal dumping in An Rinn needs to be addressed.

Conor McGuinness said:

“I was disappointed to see bags of rubbish and clothes thrown on the ground in Heilbhic and in Baile na nGall recently. These are two beautiful scenic areas that are a valuable amenity for local people and visitors alike.

“There are litter bins made available as well as other services, and its clear that the vast majority of those that visit are very respectful of the area but unfortunately the actions of a few affect everyone when people leave big bags of rubbish after them.

“Praise is due to those, council workers as well as locals, who do so much to keep the place in good condition. It’s a pity then that illegal dumping of this kind occurs in the wake of good work to keep our amenities clean, tidy and well presented.

“Its clear that many camper vans make use of these two areas especially over the summer. I am requesting the council erect signs in the areas making it clear that leaving rubbish behind is illegal, and directing people to the bottle and clothes recycling centres nearby.“
