Traffic calming required to address increased traffic through Dungarvan estate – McGuinness

Sinn Féin local election candidate Conor D. McGuinness has called for traffic calming measures to be introduced in the Marquis Drive housing estate. The call comes as residents express concerns about increased traffic through the estate.

McGuinness said:

“Marquis Drive has gone from being a quiet cul-de-sac to a busy thoroughfare for a new estate. This has led to increased traffic in the estate and residents are reporting a problem with cars driving at speed through the area. Rudimentary traffic calming measures like speed ramps or cushions and the installation of signage would do much to address the problem. I have written to the local authority to make them aware of the safety concerns of residents.”
