McGuinness thanks Council staff for Storm Ellen response

Sinn Féin Councillor Conor D. McGuinness has expressed his gratitude to Waterford Council’s outdoor staff for their response during and after Storm Ellen.

McGuinness said:

“Council outdoor staff our in a huge amount of work in theres up to the storm and as it hit our coast. They were instrumental in feeding information back on road conditions and cleared debris until it was no longer safe to do so.

“They were out again as soon as the winds died down and cleared an unprecedented amount of trees and branches from roads and paths across West Waterford.

“During the torrential rains that followed the storm they were on hand with sandbags and to clear drains as spot flooding occurred sporadically.

“We’d be lost without them and I am very grateful for their hard work and dedication last week.”
