Sinn Fein Councillor Conor D. McGuinness has highlighted the advice issued by Volunteer Ireland for those assisting in the community in response to the COVID-19 crisis.
“There has been a huge response to community requests for volunteers to help more vulnerable or unwell people through this crisis.
“It’s important that in volunteering you keep yourself and those you’re helping safe, well and secure.
“If you have time, skills and transport get in touch with a local organisation that is already working in the community.
“You can also register with Volunteer Ireland online and you will be matched with local community efforts as necessary.
“I would urge people to visit the Volunteer Ireland website at www.volunteer.ie/about-us/covid-19/ and follow their advice closely.”
