maxresdefault.jpgSinn Féin Councillor Conor D. McGuinness has said that the Government has an obligation to Irish citizens stranded abroad as a result of travel restrictions.

McGuinness said:

“Travel restrictions and cancellations are coming in thick and fast. I’ve been speaking to worried families here in West Waterford and have received messages from people that are stranded abroad and require assistance.

“The Department of Foreign Affairs has an obligation to assist Irish citizens that are stranded abroad. Anyone stranded abroad should make contact with the Department of Foreign Affairs on their special helpline 00353 1 613 1733 (10am-5pm).
