Sinn Féin Councillor Conor D. McGuinness has called for persistent flooding on the L2039 at Kilossera to be addressed as a matter of urgency.
McGuinness said:
“This is a busy road, from the N25 to Glenbeg National School. It runs along the Brickey Estuary and is bounded by marsh to the North. It has flooded several times recently, during high tides and periods of sustained rainfall.
“The road is also a busy route for pedestrians and cyclists, and a number of residents of that area do not drive. The flooding has made the road impassable on occasion.
“I have raised this issue with the Council Road
s Department and engineers will inspect the road and assess what solution can be put in place.”
