Sinn Féin Councillor Conor D. McGuinness has requested that additional streetlights are placed along a dark stretch of the N25 at the Burgery.
McGuinness said:
“For some reason a small stretch of the N25 was left without streetlights when the rest of the road was lit up many years ago. There is a gap in the streetlights in the vicinity of the Business Park just a few hundred yards from the Military Road junction. The fact that lights were not placed here seems to be an anomaly.
“This is a very busy stretch of road however the area can be very dark at night. There are several houses and businesses in the area. It makes sense to light this part of the N25 from a security point of view as well as to improve road safety.
“I am grateful to the Roads Department for agreeing to liaises with Transport Infrastructure Ireland to have this issue addressed as soon as possible. The ongoing road works at the Burgery would be an ideal time to install lights at this location.”
