Sinn Féin councillor Conor D. McGuinness has welcomed a commitment that work will soon commence to repair lights on the bridge in Lismore that have been out of order for several months. McGuinness said:
“I have raised this issue with the roads department at a number of meetings and I am glad that work will soon begin to fix these lights. I understand that the delay has been due to issues with complications accessing the cables, but its disappointing that the bridge has been without lights for such a long time and during the darkest part of the year.”
